Welcome to
Plant and Bloom Design Studio!
Hi, I’m Amy, a plant lover and landscape designer. I started this blog as a way to share my passion for planting design. My 10+years of working in the landscaping industry have given me insight into the joys and frustrations home gardeners and plant enthusiasts experience. My aim is to offer you garden ideas, landscape design ideas, inspiration, and information for the green spaces in your life.
My love of the natural world began during my childhood in New York State’s Hudson Valley. I have a Graduate Certificate in Landscape Design from George Washington University, and years of experience working as a designer, plant stylist, landscaping professional, and master gardener volunteer. My articles and designs are based on my experiences with common landscaping plants and native plants of the Mid-Atlantic United States.
This website is not an AI content farm and I am proud to offer you my own articles, designs, content and ideas. I am a 100% real person, sitting at my desk, drawing upon my experiences as a landscape designer and writing content to help and inspire you. All while my cat Tom sits on my notes and paperwork and lives his best cat life. 😜
I live, work, and garden in the Washington DC metro area and my favorite thing to do is spend time with my husband, our children, and our assortment of rescued cats and dogs (currently Tom + 3). I find inspiration for my work in the DC area’s many beautiful public gardens, parks, trails, and outdoor spaces.
My website contains affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you make a purchase through these links, at no extra cost to you. Your support allows me to continue sharing creative ideas for your outdoor spaces.
If you have a gardening question, please send it to me through the contact form. I am currently working on building a library of downloadable, easy to follow landscape design plans and plant palettes. If there is a specific design or article you would like to see on this blog, please let me know! And be sure to follow me on Pinterest, where I am always creating mood boards and sharing new ideas.
Happy gardening! 🌿
In case you thought I was exaggerating about Tom😆…
