Hi, I’m Amy, a plant lover and landscape designer. I started this blog as a way to share my passion for planting design. My 10+years of working in the landscaping industry have given me insight into the joys and frustrations home gardeners and plant enthusiasts experience. My aim is to offer you ideas, inspiration, and information for the green spaces in your life.

My love of the natural world began during my childhood in New York State’s Hudson Valley. I currently live, work, and garden in the Washington DC metro area and my favorite thing to do is spend time with my husband, our adult children, and our assortment of rescue pets (currently 4)! I find inspiration for my work in the DC area’s many beautiful public gardens, parks, trails, and outdoor spaces.

I have a Graduate Certificate in Landscape Design from George Washington University, as well as years of experience working as a designer, plant stylist, landscaping professional, and master gardener volunteer. My articles and designs are based on my experiences with landscaping plants and native plants of the Mid-Atlantic United States.
